Tribe Baseball Heads To Hofstra for CAA Series

William & Mary baseball will continue conference play this weekend as the Tribe visits 2022 CAA Champion Hofstra for a three-game set in Hempstead. The teams will face off Friday at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at 1:00. p.m.,and Sunday at noon. 
 
The games will mark the first trip to Hempstead for the Tribe since the 2019 season. William & Mary owns a 14-11 mark all-time in games at Hofstra. Both teams will be looking to improve on 1-2 CAA records as the Tribe dropped a pair of one run games to Charleston and Hofstra took one of three from Delaware last weekend. 
 
Despite dropping a 6-5 game to No. 10 ECU on Wednesday, the Tribe has knocked double-digit hits in each of the past three games. The Green and Gold are the CAA's leaders with 182 hits in 18 games. Ben Williamson and Joe Delossantos rank second and third in the league respectively with 29 and 27 hits on the year. 
 
Williamson has been on a tear recently, with nine hits over his last six games. The third baseman has scored nine runs over that stretch with four extra base hits and five runs driven in. Luca Danos has five hits and has scored five times over the past three games with six runs driven in. 
 
Strong all season, the William & Mary pitching staff has allowed just 13 runs over the past five games. The Tribe's 3.16 team ERA tops the CAA and is the 15th best in the nation. The team is allowing the 24th fewest hits in NCAA and is 33rd in team WHIP. 
 
Cory Wall leads the CAA and ranks in the top-35 nationally with 13.8 strikeouts per nine innings pitched, while Rojo Prarie has been dominant with a 0.68 ERA and a .130 batting average against. Nate Knowles and Owen Pierce are also keeping opponents to a sub .200 batting average.
