Grafton High School had the highest enrollment among York County schools, welcoming 1,229 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed at the time, 50.3% of them were female, and 49.7% were male.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 54.6% of Grafton High School's total enrollment.

Among the 19 schools in York County, Tabb High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,131 students, while York High School welcomed 988 students to be ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Grafton High School is part of York County Public Schools District, which roughly covers schools within York County, with its main office in Yorktown.

In the previous school year, Grafton High School also had the highest number of students among York County schools.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
