Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg issued the following announcement on July 14
Riverside Health System is proud to announce their Supply Chain team has earned both Premier’s Supply Chain Excellence Award and GHX’s Provider of the Year Award, demonstrating their commitment to safety, quality and service, all part of the Riverside Care Difference.
Riverside’s partnership with Premier Inc., a national group purchasing organization, allowed the health system to successfully source scarce products during the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Supply Chain Excellence Award focused on Riverside’s ability to utilize this partnership during this difficult time. Recipients of Premier’s Breakthroughs Awards are considered industry leaders that are making a difference in healthcare. They are recognized for their efforts to improve care delivery operations, outcomes, costs and the health of communities they serve.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for our supply chain team’s performance over the past year,” said Bob Hornsby, Riverside Health System’s System Director, Supply Chain Management. “Our partnership with Premier has allowed us to obtain crucial supplies and services needed during the pandemic. Taking care of our health system is our number one priority, and while this year certainly brought challenges, we’re proud that we were able to succeed”
Riverside also received GHX’s Provider of the Year Award due to the health system’s ability to continuously drive savings and efficiency for their organization. GHX reinvented their awards program this year in recognition of the providers, suppliers and individuals that went above and beyond to support patients and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as for exhibiting healthcare supply chain excellence. Honorees of this award were chosen from a pool of over 4,100 provider organizations nation-wide.
“Riverside is thrilled to be named Provider of the Year. We’re committed to providing the absolute best service to our patients, residents and team members, and to be able to do so during such a difficult year means the world to us,” said Hornsby. “With so much uncertainty in the world, we are aiming to be that element of certainty for our health system—they know that they can count on us to be here for them.”
