When asked if she wanted to create a fresh, vegan smoothie recipe for Smoothie Stop Cafe's Hampton Grand Opening celebration and regular menu, Thomas Nelson Community College ChefsGO 2019 graduate Ruth Potter, didn't skip a beat. "Absolutely!" Potter exclaimed.
That's largely because, like most chefs, Potter is a natural nurturer, and loves to create healthy and delicious food to serve people, friends, and family.
"My mom and granddaughter love sweet smoothies. I am the sugar mama in my family. Instead of sugar, I add fresh fruits and veggies to our smoothies. I love spending time in the kitchen with my family. We talk about everything in Ruth's Kitchen. I am named after my grandmother and she'll forever be my Top Chef. I would like to be my four-year-old granddaughter's Top Chef," says Potter.
You can sample her recipe creation, tentatively titled "Ruth's Smoothie" at Smoothie Stop Cafe's Hampton location 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 25. Owners Chris Dilkes and Chris Taylor are generously offering special discounts, giveaways, and coupons for Thomas Nelson Community College students, alumni, teachers, staff, employees and anyone wearing Thomas Nelson paraphernalia or mentions the Grand Opening Flyer.
The Smoothie Stop Cafe is located in Hampton at 106 Coliseum Dr. Join Potter and the Smoothie Spot team next week, eat some healthy, delicious food, and have some fun. ChefsGO 1.0 is tentatively planning to resume classes in February 2023.
