Virginia State Police are conducting a search for Glenn Jefferson Large Jr., a 50-year-old patient who left Eastern State Hospital without authorization. The incident occurred earlier today, with the individual last seen at 10:15 a.m. climbing over the hospital’s perimeter fence. He was wearing a grey sweater and grey sweatpants.

Authorities have stated there is no indication that Large poses an immediate threat to the public. However, they advise residents not to approach him and to contact emergency services by calling 911 if he is spotted.

The search involves local and state law enforcement working alongside facility staff and mental health professionals to ensure Large’s safe return.
