Rep. Rob Wittman, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 1st district since 2007, recently shared several updates via social media on topics ranging from local construction projects to legislative efforts. Wittman, a Virginia Tech graduate born in Washington, D.C., has also served in the Virginia House of Delegates and the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors.

On January 22, 2025, Rep. Wittman highlighted his visit to DPR Construction in Glen Allen alongside Brookland District Supervisor Dan Schmitt. He noted that "DPR Construction has served the Richmond area since 1996, leading major projects and employing hundreds across the Commonwealth."

Later that day, Wittman addressed a tragic incident involving Laken Riley, who was killed by an illegal immigrant nearly a year ago. He expressed his support for legislation named after Riley, stating "No family should ever have to go through what Laken’s has endured." He voted for the Laken Riley Act and anticipates its enactment into law.

On January 23, 2025, Wittman discussed environmental concerns related to forest management. He remarked on past mismanagement issues that have left forests vulnerable to fires and announced his vote for the Fix Our Forests Act. Wittman urged Senate colleagues to pass this legislation swiftly by saying "Decades of mismanagement have left our forests vulnerable."
