On November 22, 2024, Rep. Wittman commended an individual named Carl for his quick action in saving an American flag from being desecrated at Union Station by pro-Hamas activists. Wittman expressed his gratitude by presenting Carl with an American flag and remarks acknowledging his bravery. "When pro-Hamas activists tried to desecrate the American flag at Union Station, Carl jumped into action and saved the flag from being destroyed."

Later that day, Rep. Wittman emphasized the importance of adapting defense capabilities to keep pace with technological advancements in a digital society. He participated in the National Security Digital Thread Summit to discuss these issues as vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Republicans.
