Residential Structure Fire – 100 Block of Westover Avenue
The City of Williamsburg Fire Department were dispatched at 2:23 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, to the 100 block of Westover Avenue for a residential structure fire.The first unit arrived on scene at 2:24 p.m. and found smoke and fire showing from the residence. Crews quickly contained the fire, which was extinguished by 2:31 p.m. and marked under control at 3:08 p.m. Firefighters remained on scene to remove debris and check for additional fire damage. The fire caused moderate damage to the home.The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported. One person was in the home at the time of the fire and was able to leave the residence prior to the arrival of emergency personnel. One person is temporarily displaced because of this fire.James City County Fire Department and York County Department Fire & Life Safety assisted on this call. The response included approximately 20 personnel.
