Rep. Rob Wittman, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 1st district, recently shared several statements on social media reflecting his ongoing commitments and responses to current events. Wittman, who has been in office since replacing Jo Ann Davis in 2007, continues to focus on public health initiatives and military appreciation while addressing national concerns.

On May 15, Rep. Wittman emphasized his dedication to public health as he noted his roles as co-chair of the Congressional Public Health Caucus and a member of the Mental Health Caucus. He stated: “As co-chair of the Congressional Public Health Caucus and a member of the Mental Health Caucus, I remain committed to advancing policies that promote well-being and reduce barriers to care for all.” He also acknowledged Mental Health Awareness Month, highlighting the importance of raising awareness during this time.

Two days later, on May 17, Rep. Wittman expressed gratitude towards members of the Armed Forces. He wrote: “To all members of our Armed Forces, we thank you today and every day for your service, bravery, and sacrifice.” This message underscores his appreciation for their dedication to protecting freedoms.

On May 18, Rep. Wittman responded to news about former President Biden’s cancer diagnosis with sympathy and support: “I’m saddened to hear about former President Biden’s cancer diagnosis.” He conveyed thoughts and prayers for Biden’s strength and recovery during this challenging period.

Rep. Rob Wittman’s longstanding career includes previous roles in the Virginia House of Delegates and Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors before joining Congress in 2007. A graduate from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981, he resides in Montross at age 64.
