Rob Wittman, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 1st district, recently addressed constituents through a series of social media posts. Wittman, who has served since 2007 after succeeding Jo Ann Davis, communicated several updates and messages, focusing on opportunities for youth community engagement and recent legislative efforts.

On April 19, 2025, Wittman tweeted a “Reminder: The 2025 Congressional Art Competition is still open to high school students in VA-01!” He encouraged eligible students to “submit your original artwork by Monday, April 28 for a chance to have it displayed in the U.S. Capitol.”

Celebrating a festive occasion, Wittman shared a message on April 20, 2025, wishing his followers a “Happy Easter!” He expressed, “May the resurrection of Christ bring you peace and joy as you celebrate with family and loved ones.”

Furthermore, in a tweet dated April 21, 2025, Wittman announced his participation in a podcast discussion with colleague Pat Ryan. He stated, “ICYMI: My friend @RepPatRyan and I joined the @DefenseTechPod to discuss launching the House Defense Modernization Caucus!” The congressman highlighted Ryan’s role as “a great partner in accelerating defense innovation through the #NDAA.”

Rob Wittman, born in 1959 in Washington, D.C., has a long record of public service, having previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates and on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors. He is an alumnus of Virginia Tech, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981, and currently resides in Montross.
