Rep. Rob Wittman, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 1st district since 2007, shared several updates on his recent activities and positions via social media on February 6, 2025.

On that day, Wittman expressed his satisfaction in meeting with Commonwealth attorneys at Capitol Hill to discuss criminal justice reform. He stated: “I was pleased to welcome our Commonwealth’s attorneys to Capitol Hill yesterday! We discussed enacting meaningful criminal justice reform that ensures our justice system operates fairly and supporting our law enforcement officers so that they are in the best position to protect…”

Later the same day, he addressed concerns regarding China, identifying it as a significant adversary. Wittman emphasized the need for confrontation against China’s military and economic strategies. He thanked colleagues for their leadership efforts: “The CCP remains our greatest adversary — we must confront China’s military, economic, and diplomatic coercion while countering its hostile agenda. Thank you to @SpeakerJohnson and @RepMoolenaar for your leadership in renewing the @committeeonccp!”

In a subsequent post on February 6th, Wittman highlighted his support for legislation aimed at combating the fentanyl crisis by sharing: “Every single life lost to the fentanyl crisis is more than just a statistic — families should not have to experience such heartbreak. I was proud to vote for the HALT Fentanyl Act today, which I’m a proud cosponsor of.”
