Rep. Rob Wittman, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 1st district since 2007, has shared his views on national security and paid tribute to a colleague through recent social media posts.

On May 20, 2025, Wittman expressed concerns over national security issues related to China’s control over rare earth magnets. The following day, May 21, 2025, Wittman conveyed his condolences regarding the death of Congressman Gerry Connolly. He also noted working alongside Connolly for many years and admired his tenacity and spirit.

Later that same day, Wittman commented on advancements in missile defense systems under President Trump’s administration. He described the initiative as “President Trump’s Golden Dome marks a bold step forward for America’s national security.” He expressed pride in Congress’s investment towards developing a next-generation missile defense system designed to protect against advanced threats.
