Rep. Rob Wittman, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 1st district since 2007, has been actively communicating with his constituents through social media. His recent posts address significant national issues and provide information on constituent services.

On May 12, 2025, Rep. Wittman emphasized the need for “targeted savings” to manage the rising national debt, suggesting a careful approach to federal workforce and spending adjustments. He stated, “To address our rising national debt, we need to pursue targeted savings — not reckless cuts.” He further elaborated that it is crucial to use a “scalpel, not a sledgehammer,” indicating a preference for precision over broad cuts.

Later that day, Wittman informed his constituents about the availability of assistance for Social Security benefits, passport renewals, and VA claims at his district offices in Glen Allen and Yorktown. He announced additional support through mobile office hours in Kilmarnock scheduled for the following day: “My team is also hosting mobile office hours in Kilmarnock tomorrow to assist constituents with…”

Continuing this initiative on May 13, 2025, Wittman reiterated his commitment to providing constituent services by announcing another session of mobile office hours in Tappahannock. The tweet read: “My team is also hosting mobile office hours in Tappahannock tomorrow to assist constituents with…”

Rob Wittman’s tenure began when he succeeded Jo Ann Davis in 2007. Before joining Congress, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates and on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors from 2006 to 2007. Born in Washington D.C., Wittman graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree.
