Residents are invited to participate in the Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission (PRAC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 15, at 6 p.m. This meeting will take place at the James City County Recreation Center, located at 5301 Longhill Rd. During this session, there will be a public comment period allowing residents to share their thoughts or suggestions concerning Parks & Recreation facilities, parks, programs, or services.

The PRAC members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for staggered four-year terms. The Commission acts as a liaison between the Director of Parks & Recreation and various stakeholders including the Board of Supervisors, the County Administrator, and local citizens on matters related to recreation and parks. They also provide input for planning in these areas. Citizens interested in serving on a County Board or Commission can call 757-253-6609 for more information or complete an Application to Serve.
