Natalie Deaton, a 20-year-old resident of Williamsburg, who was reported missing earlier on May 8, has been found safe. The Newport News Police Department confirmed her location and safety at approximately 11:20 p.m. the same day. The James City County Police Department expressed their gratitude to the Newport News Police Department for their efforts in locating Ms. Deaton and thanked the local community for their role in raising awareness.
Earlier that day, the James City County Police Department had sought public assistance in finding Ms. Deaton after she was reported missing at 9:13 a.m. She was last seen by her family on the evening of May 5 and left unexpectedly during the night without any communication devices. Her frequent visits to Newport News and Hampton were noted, but initial attempts to locate her were unsuccessful. Concerns had been raised regarding her need for medical care due to existing health conditions.
Ms. Deaton is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. At the time she went missing, she was wearing a black t-shirt and blue shorts and has a faded cross tattoo on her right forearm.
The police had urged anyone with information about Natalie Deaton’s whereabouts to contact emergency services or the Peninsula Regional Dispatch Center.
