All James City County offices and facilities will close at 2:30 p.m. on December 8 due to winter weather conditions, according to a statement from county officials. The closure affects the James City County Recreation Center, Convenience Centers, and all county parks.
Parks & Recreation programming and classes scheduled after 2:30 p.m. are canceled for the day. The Abram Frink Jr. Community Center will also remain closed.
Emergency officials stated they will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the evening and overnight. “In addition to the predicted snowfall, low temperatures are expected that may contribute to roads freezing overnight,” the statement read. “A decision on a delayed opening for tomorrow will be made later this evening.”
