James City County is marking July as Park and Recreation Month, an initiative by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The county is inviting residents to explore local parks, trails, and programs during this period.

In a recent Board of Supervisors meeting on June 24, Parks & Recreation staff accepted a proclamation acknowledging both Park and Recreation Month and Park and Recreation Professionals Day on July 18. This day is dedicated to honoring the professionals who contribute to building strong communities through parks and recreation.

Residents are encouraged to share their experiences on social media by tagging the county’s official pages on Facebook or Instagram. A full list of county parks, trails, programs, and events can be accessed through jamescitycountyva.gov.

“Thank you for supporting JCC Parks & Recreation!” said the spokesperson for James City County.
