James City County announces schedule changes for Martin Luther King Jr. holiday

James City County has announced changes to its schedule in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

County offices will be closed on January 19. The James City County Recreation Center and Abram Frink Jr. Community Center will remain open that day. All county parks will continue their year-round operations and stay open.

Park stores and guest services offices will be closed on January 19. The Jolly Pond Road and Toano Convenience Centers will operate as usual, while the Tewning Road Convenience Center, which is normally closed on Mondays, will not be open.

The Garbage Transfer Station will remain open on January 19. Curbside recycling services are not affected by the holiday and there will be no changes to the pickup schedule.
